“People meet people” – under this motto, a meeting place has been created in Hangar 1 in the Tempelhof Airport building in recent years, where civil society engagement is made possible and social participation is promoted.
Volunteers offer numerous low-threshold, open offers for children, adolescents and adults. Sport comes first here – there is a basketball court, a soccer field, numerous table tennis tables, a teqball table, fitness equipment and several small rooms in which, among other things, judo and boxing are offered. There are various dance courses, open gym appointments, Taekwondo courses, kickboxing and much more.
In the Juk Cheon Do courses, which are offered for children up to 14 years of age, the children learn modern martial arts that focus on self-defense.
There are also social counseling services and a regular bike workshop where you can learn to repair your bikes yourself. Spare parts and tools are available.
Soul of the City e.V regularly organizes Saturdays on which people can grill, chill, dance and play in Hangar 1. Families are always welcome here.
Hangar 1 also has a great outdoor area, which can be used for a variety of activities, especially in summer. There is a basketball / street ball court, great raised beds and plenty of space to chill out and train and sometimes even open air cinema events.

Saturday 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.
