The over 50 years old Children’s and Youth Library (KiJuBI) in the Central Library (ZLB) at Hallesches Tor is home to Germany’s largest selection of books, learning materials, board games and films for children and young people.
The (small) children’s area of the KiJuBi has a large, cosy reading corner with constantly changing book recommendations, an aquarium, picture & story books in many languages as well as a selection of board and card games.
There are (computer) workstations in the youth library and workshops for school classes, homework help and assistance with research and learning in the learning centre.
There are also exciting events for kids & teens of all ages throughout the year. Readings, picture books told in sign language, computer workshops, team games, picture book cinema and much more. You can find current events here: https://www.zlb.de/kijubi/portal/veranstaltungen/veranstaltungen.html
And the best: Library cards, which are valid for all public libraries in Berlin, are free of charge for children from 0 years of age and pupils with a valid school ID!
