Snorting donkeys, croaking ducks, a roaring deer and last but not least the haunting calls of the peacocks…The Neukölln Zoo in Volkspark Hasenheide is simply worth a trip in any weather and at any time of year – even for the youngest visitors who can get really close to the animals in some of the enclosures.
The little zoo is situated in the shade at the northern end of Hasenheide. Endangered breeds of domestic animals can be protected and preserved here. The place is home to llamas, donkeys, pigs, goats, sheep, ponies, storks, deer and emus , to name but a few. At the western entrance you will also find an exciting insect hotel.
On weekends your kids can ride ponies here between 2pm and 3pm.
Have you ever thought of celebrating a children’s birthday in the middle of the city surrounded by animals? Just contact the zoo and they’ll make things happen for you – including animal guidance, feeding etc.
