Tempelhofer Feld

Hardly any other place in Berlin offers as many possibilities to spend time outdoors as the Tempelhofer Feld, which is accessible all year round.

The runways of the former airport area offer plenty of space for skateboarding, inline skating, cycling, running and even jogging with sports buggies etc. There’s a basketball court and football pitches (sand) .

Those who prefer to go on foot – whether for long walks or training – there are miles of fields and meadows off the asphalt tracks. With a bit of luck, even raptors can be observed here.

In the community garden of the Allmende-Kontor there are cosy shady places, creatively built raised beds and even high chairs – perfect for climbing and picnicking.

There are also three spacious barbecue meadows -surely one of the most popular places in town during the summer months.

And on mild autumn days, there is hardly anything more beautiful than marvelling at the many colourful kites in the sky or flying one…and of course climbing from one bale of straw to another!

Useful Information

Free Admission

The former airport area is accessible all year round from sunrise to sunset. The entrances are closed at sunset, however, the site can still be left through the revolving doors at the main entrances.

The three main entrances and the entrance on Oderstraße are barrier-free. With the exception of the sanitary building near the entrance on Columbiadamm, all toilet facilities are wheelchair accessible.

There are explicitly designated areas for practicing wind sports.

Close to the entrance at S+U-Bahnhof Tempelhof, various vehicles such as bicycles and gokarts can be rented.

There are a few spaces to get food and drinks across the field such as the Luftgarten close to the Columbia Damm Entrance and PicNic Berlin at the Oderstraße Entrance.
