Playground at Körnerpark

The playground, which opened in summer 2017, is right next to the Körnerpark and offers plenty of space for games and sports.

It is divided into 3 areas: a toddler area with a small climbing frame with slide, sand play elements, swings and a sweet picnic table with giant sunflowers.

Next to it is the large main area of the playground. It has a giant whale skeleton climbing frame on a rubberized hill. There is also a large basket swing, a turntable, wobble elements, swings, slides, a sand excavator and a ropeway.

Behind it is the sports area of the playground with 2 table tennis tables, a small basketball court and two soccer fields with rubber floor.

The playground is completely fenced, surrounded by trees, has a lot of sand and plenty of seating.

By the way, the ideas of the children who visit the schools and daycare centers in the area were included in the design of the playground – quite well, we think!

There used to be a gravel pit here. The Berlin businessman Franz Körner, who is also the namesake of the park on the opposite side, collected bones from this pit with great passion – the playing elements in bones and skeletons should remind of this.
