Natur-Park Schöneberger Südgelände

After years of non-use of the former Tempelhof marshalling yard, the area was left to nature and then made into a unique nature park in 2000.

The Natur-Park Schöneberger Südgelände is a combination of relics from the marshalling yard era, contemporary art objects as well as a nature and landscape conservation area.

On evened track beds and walkways, visitors can go on a tour of discovery amidst unspoilt woods and meadows. There are several explanatory boards (German & English) with information about the areas flora and fauna. Some rare bird and insect species have found a sanctuary here.

Young and old train fans will also enjoy the park. In addition to old locomotive and rail relics, the Berlin S-Bahn trains, regional trains and ICE trains can be spotted through the woods from many places.

For little adventurers, the park offers tunnels, stairs, track beds and a high observation tower.
